Visually impaired cricketers lose in National semifinals

Odisha bowed out in the semifinals of the 24th National Cricket Tournament for the Blind, losing to defending champions Andhra Pradesh by six runs at MIG Ground in Mumbai today. Andhra Pradesh will take on Gujarat in the final tomorrow. In the other semifinal, Gujarat beat Haryana by 88 runs.

Odisha qualified for the semifinals, winning two matches and losing one in the league stage. They first suffered an eight-wicket defeat against, but bounced back to crush Karnataka by eight wickets and Uttar Pradesh by identical margin.

Oct 31: Karnataka 114/10 in 18.4 overs (Pankaj Bhue 6/32, Singrai Majhi 2 wkts) lost to Odisha 115/2 in 12.4 overs (Sukhram Majhi 54*, Pankaj Bhue 49) by 8 wkts.
Nov 1: Uttar Pradresh 139 all out in 32.5 overs (Mohammed Faisal 75; Pankaj Bhue 5/27) lost to Odisha 140/2 in 10.2 overs (Pankaj Bhue 72) by 8 wkts.
Nov 2 (SF): Andhra Pradesh 257 all out in 34.5 overs (Ajay Reddy 143, Durga Rao 31; Tapan Gouda 3/72, Sukham Majhi 2/32) beat Odisha 251/8 in 35 overs (Sukhram Majhi 66, Lingaraj Routray 32, Nakula Badanaik 32, Pankaj Bhue 25; Venkateswara Rao 2 wkts) by 6 runs.
